Once again, the BHA’s Community Service Awards will be presented by Tom Stewart, our favorite Channel 13 personality, a Heights resident and BHA member. This year awards will go to:

The Brooklyn Heights Interfaith Clergy Association for their banners reading, “We are All Children of One God”, installed last fall after a series of anti-Semitic graffiti appeared in the neighborhood);

Samhi Elrumi, one of the most popular independent merchant on Montague Street, the perfect example of “mom and pop” kind of proprietor.

Marianna Koval, Executive Director of the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy, whose tenacity brought the Pool Lady swimming barge to our waterfront last summer.

And, for enhancing the streetscape with outstanding architectural improvements. Howard Haimes, 135 Joralemon Street, Marc Agger and Francesca Connolly, 5 Montague Terrace and, at 46 Henry Street, the Petit Marche bistro
