On Tuesday, February 26th, we hope you will join us for our 98th Annual Meeting, to be held in the St. Francis College Auditorium, 180 Remsen Street, at 7:30 PM.

Our featured speaker is Clyde Haberman of the New York Times. We all know how Haberman’s entertaining NYC column combines city lore with current events, and an encyclopedic knowledge of urban life with urbane humor. What is probably less known is the scope and dash of Haberman’s long journalistic career. From a stint as City Hall Bureau Chief, to head of the Tokyo Bureau, then to the Rome office (his home base for reporting on the Persian Gulf War and the collapse of Communism), he went on to Jerusalem to cover militant Islamic terrorism and the Oslo Accords. Wherever news was happening, you’d find Clyde Haberman, so it’s only natural that he’ll be speaking in Brooklyn Heights on February 26th. Mr. Haberman is no stranger to our neighborhood. He’s not only a former resident, but his daughter and son- in-law live here now.
