Captain Abel, the Commanding Officer of the 84th Precinct, reports that
the police have arrested three suspects believed to be responsible for
the rash of eleven burglaries that took place in the North Heights during
December-March. All the burglaries involved apartment buildings with fire
escapes and easy access via the front doors. The arrests appear to have
ended this crime spree. Nevertheless, the police are taking no chances,
and you can expect to see a continued police presence throughout the Heights.
Captain Abel made a point of asking us to ask you to welcome the officers
on patrol and thank them for their vigilance.
